As we reflect on 2025, we want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support of the Greater Idaho Falls Police Foundation. Because of our community, this past year was filled with fun events, growth, and support for local law enforcement agencies and the people they serve.
2025 Year in Review
This year, the Foundation was proud to support several initiatives benefiting the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho Falls Police Department, and Idaho State Police.
Therapy K9 Program
In 2025, we partnered with the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office to place Strider, a therapy dog, with School Resource Officer Nate Downey. Strider works directly with students to help reduce anxiety, improve emotional regulation, and build positive relationships between youth and law enforcement. The program has already shown tremendous value within schools, and one video featuring Strider has received more than one million views online.

Specialized Officer Training
We assisted the Idaho State Police by funding specialized defensive tactics training at Soma Jiu Jitsu in Idaho Falls. This training helps increase officer confidence, reduce injuries, and lower the likelihood of higher levels of force being used creating safer outcomes for both officers and the public.

Guns N’ Hoses Hockey Fundraiser
We just hosted our second annual Guns N’ Hoses Hockey Game at the Mountain America Center. This fun, community-focused event helps raise funds that directly support the programs listed above, and we were grateful for the strong turnout and enthusiasm once again.

Looking Ahead to 2026
As we move into the new year, the Foundation continues to grow, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.
Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Luncheon

We aim to grow our training budget to provide more resources for specialized instruction, safety programs, and officer wellness initiatives.Community Fundraising Events
In addition to preparing for the luncheon we planning our third annual Guns N’ Hoses Hockey Game, and we are exploring the addition of a charity golf tournament to increase outreach and expand our ability to support these programs.
